In the past I had a pretty simple “point and shoot” approach using my smartphone. Recently I started using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ101, a compact travel zoom camera, which is my first foray into more advanced photography.
I am still learning about its features as well as the makings of a great picture (subject, composition, light, etc.) but am already in love with the compact size of the camera and the increased quality of the photos. I enjoy trying out different angles and positions to take pictures of the tiny urban farm and its inhabitants; it feels like a different kind of painting technique. I am very smitten with the beautiful flower close-ups that are possible, so be prepared to see quite a few of those on the blog.
